Step 1: After downloading Aegisub to your computer, run the Aegisub file to install it. Select English as the language.

Step 3: In this step, you can change the storage folder for the Aegisub program by clicking "Browse." Then, click "Next."

Step 6: To open the video file on your computer that you want to subtitle, click "Video" on the main interface and select "Open Video."

Step 7: After Aegisub loads the video, if the video appears too large or too small, you can adjust the display size by clicking the magnifying glass icon on the interface.

Step 8: Next, create subtitles for the video. First, you need to determine the start and end times of each subtitle line in the video.

Click the "Play" button to play the video. When the speech begins, click the "Stop" button to stop the video. Then, click the "Set start of selected subtitles to current video frame" icon, or press Ctrl + 3 to set the start point for the subtitle.

Step 9: After determining the start time of the first subtitle line, click "Play" to resume the video. When the dialogue or lyrics end, click "Stop" and select the "Set end of selected subtitles to current video frame" button or press Ctrl + 4 to set the end time for that subtitle line.

Directly below the video is the time frame for the start and end times of the subtitle line you have set.

Step 10: Next, write the subtitle text for the video segment in the text box next to it. Press Enter to finish the subtitle line. The subtitle will also appear on the screen.

Step 11: To edit the subtitle, click the "Edit" button. A new "Style Editor" window will appear. Here, you can change the font, size, color, shadow, subtitle position on the video, and more to suit your preferences.

Pay attention to the "Preview" section to see how the subtitles will look with the applied changes.

Once you have finished setting up the subtitles, click "Apply" to apply the changes and "OK" to complete the subtitle editing process.

Step 12: The subtitle will appear on the video interface after being applied. Repeat the same steps for other subtitle lines.

Step 13: Once you have completed all the subtitles for the video, click the "Save" icon above to save the subtitles. A storage interface will appear on the computer to choose the save location and name the subtitle file. Click "Save" to save it.

The subtitle file will be saved in .ass format. It's best to save the subtitle file in the same folder as the video file and with the same name as the video for media players like VLC Media Player to read the subtitles more conveniently.
